Southampton airport is just under a mile from the M27 Junction 5 and just under four miles from the centre of Southampton.The M27 is connected to M3 providing easy access to Basingstoke, Oxford and the Midlands (via A34) and London.

Southampton Airport Terminal Information

The first flight from Southampton was in 1910. In 1936 the Spitfire manufactured locally was tested here. Southamptons new terminal was opened in 1994 amd in 1995 the existing terminal building was demolished. Southamptons landmark as an airport was in 2003 when it saw over 1 million passengers in a year. Its passenger numbers are increasing and now sees over 1.5 million per year. The airport has 11 airlines operating to over 40 UK and international destinations.

The terminal is light and airy and as you would expect with a modern airport facility provides good catering and retail facilities plus currency exchange, cash facilities and internet access. Flight departure information, including flight numbers are displayed on TV monitors located throughout the concourse of the terminal.
